Privacy

FarNest is built to plan a trip without handing over personal details. This page explains exactly what we store and why.

Cookies

FarNest sets only its own cookies. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

• MyNest — a random identifier, set only when you save something, so your saved places are there when you come back. Kept for up to a year.
• Your trip — the dates and party size you searched with, so they carry across pages. Kept for up to 90 days, and cleared when you change or remove your dates.
• Host connection — only for hosts connecting a booking system, to keep their place in that process.

What we record when you use the site

• Searches — what was searched for (keyword, area, dates, party size) so we can see what travellers need. It's stored against a one-way scrambled identifier, never your name or email.
• Going to book — when you follow a link to a stay's booking page, we record which stay and which page you came from, against the same scrambled identifier, so hosts can see how many travellers FarNest sent them. We never see what you booked or paid.

Things you send us

If you claim a property, ask to join as a host, or suggest a correction, we keep what you type into that form (including your name and email, if you give them) so a person can act on it and reply.

Maps

Maps are drawn with OpenStreetMap tiles; loading a map sends a normal web request for those images to the tile provider.

Booking sites

FarNest doesn't take bookings. Once you follow a link to a host's booking system or a booking site, their privacy policy applies to anything you enter there.
